THE FIRST BURN
Ensure the first burn lasts long enough for the entire surface of the candle to become liquid, typically about 2-4 hours. This initial burn is crucial as it sets the candle’s "memory," promoting an even burn for the life of the candle. If the first burn is too short, it can cause tunneling, where the candle burns down the middle, wasting wax on the sides.
-
TRIM THE WICK
Before each use, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. Keeping the wick trimmed prevents excessive flickering, smoking, and soot, ensuring a steady and clean flame. A longer wick can cause the flame to become too large, leading to faster burning and potentially unsafe conditions.
-
AVOID DRAFTS
Place your candle in an area free from drafts. Moving air can cause uneven burning, smoking, and diminish the candle's scent throw. Ideal spots are stable surfaces away from open windows, fans, or air vents.
-
BURN TIME
For optimal performance, do not burn your I Am Kandel candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This helps preserve the integrity of the wick and vessel, ensuring a longer-lasting candle.
-
EXTINGUISHING THE FLAME
To safely extinguish your candle, use a snuffer to avoid hot wax splatter and to minimize smoke. Alternatively, gently blow out the flame and ensure the wick is upright and centered.
-
SAFETY FIRST
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always keep it away from flammable objects, children, and pets. Ensure your candle is placed on a heat-resistant surface to prevent any potential damage to furniture or countertops. Following these safety precautions helps prevent accidents and ensures a worry-free experience as you enjoy your candle.
-
CLEANING THE VESSEL
Once your candle has fully burned, allow the vessel to cool completely. Remove any remaining wax by scraping it out with a spoon or a dull knife. Wipe the inside with a warm, damp cloth to remove any residue.

REPURPOSING THE VESSEL
